East Coast road ride
Anyway... So..here i begin..hmm AH yes it was the day before MAF ( Mid Autumn Festival for long), which is like one of the biggest events on the Hwachong Calender! and 3 days before my physics spa..lol.
I was feeling bored at home, so i called up Justin (ACJC J2 friend who was from Fairfield Methodist) to go out cycling with me. Through duo consensus we decided to take a trip down to East Coast park. I didnt know the route so he brought me there. it was about 4pm at that time, i was suppoed to meet him like 4.30 but i was late by like 35 mins? oops. haha wats new.
Met up with Just at KAP macs, den told him i had to drop by Hwachong to get my Physics spa notes from Glorijoy. btw i was dressed in my BRand new green merida jersey! It gives an Instant-turn-pro-effect (not like my physique wasnt pro enuf =P), no water necessary. My rear wheel was still unrepaired so i was left wif one poser front wheel onli. Dropped by hc Glori was very nice to come out and pass my my w/s cos i was damn paiseh to go inside in cycling attire.Damn extra. Turned into west coronation drive and down to holland road, and Justin led me down to Orchard Road.
Orchard Road was HELL! i dont like it! Traffic was as bad as the food in HC. I didnt like the idea of swerving in and out of cars on such a massive road, even though the idea of posing with a road bike in orchard road was very enticing. The traffic junction at Lido/wheelock was the worse. Justin went straight, but i crossed e road over to wheelock place and crossed again to orchard mrt. Passed by Orchard mrt saw policemen cordoning off e area. Thought some festive thing was going on/some impt personel coming. Didnt know that someone's head was dere til went hm and samuel told me. goosebumpy. Jay-walked back to Justin's side and we carried on.
On the way to east coast some parts we pushed quite hard, like high 30s to 40s, and tada we arrived at eastcoast. Here's where the real fun began:
It was more of a chill-out ride at east coast, the sea breeze was whoa damn nice. My only complains were that it was too crowded, too family orientated, not much eye candy unlike Sentosa. Oh and we were abit extra since road riders lk damn extra on "leisure routes". But still, it was like some bonus level, some ego-boosting stage where u cruise around and whenever someone admires ur bike (or u) u get 5 ego points. 20 points for a hot girl. Darn if only i had my shades on. Cool factor would be like +200, ego +150, though we would have incured greater damage to our pride if we had been beaten by other riders. Msged Jinglin tt i was at east coast but got no reply.
Went all the way down to National Sailing Center. the trip was worthit cos i had e chance to disturb Rachelle Beh since she was sitting at the bench outside NSC. So fun! So loser have to go bac to do some boat maintenance even when exams are coming! haha! hey beh im jk =) Anyway kinda pity her cos later she msged me and told me she jus broke up with bf tts why sitting there. I thought tt was better for her anyway.
Was kinda late so had to return. The return journey even more thrilling. On the way back frm NSC got some stupid chinese rider (abt 30-40 yrs old) riding a hardtail mtb. Funny branded frame but was a decent bike (rather good specs). Stupid idiot was damn cocky and inconsiderate. Was damn obvious he was trying to race us la like wth?!? it doesnt take a weixuan to figure that u CANT beat roadies on a mountain bike! Whats more we were fully attired, which would have clearly given him the message that we weren't half past six riders. Even normal sane-minded racers would have thought twice before challenging another rider. Another point was that HELLO that was EAST COAST PARK, you want to race in a 'civilian-populated' area?? want to run down people ah?? We were riding very carefully, everytime we loomed up upon some grp of kids/weekenders we would slow down alot to pass them. Not like we were speeding in the first place. THAT IDIOT, stupid prick was like going how blardy fast to overtake us. Everytime we slow down he would jus pass us. We didnt bother racing him of course, but we kept passing him again when the stretch was cleared. Once we slowed down got this small kid riding a tricycle in front. that jerked just sped ahead and when he saw him jammed his brakes almost slammed into him. Shouldve just gave him a piece of my mind. WORSE, soon after we came across two dumb malay riders. DUMB and i really mean DUMB. (if u are police im not wacking e malay population im wacking two dumb malay pricks) TOTAL dickheads. E adult idiot passed dem first (cos he overtook us again), den one guy was like " wa damn fast siaaaH" in that kinda friggin irritating accent den he got off the saddle and started attacking him (and us). The other guy followed from dunno where. like WTH?? hav they no brains? rental bikes? and NO LIFE or what so cheap thrill also fuN?? By that time we had already reached the more crowed areas of ECP. what was the most pissing off things was to see the brainless malays riding RECKLESSLY. Me and justin totally ignored the 3 of them. Once justin was behind me, and the malay was drafting me. gues what? he was holding his fork (e 'Y' shaped thing holding your front wheel) instead of his handlebars and swerving left right left right. frequently he would just like sprint pass me den while passing me he would keep glancing over at me like WTF. I was just looking straight and i wasnt even riding at normal CRUSING speed. It was how friggin obvious we had no intention to race either of them. How i felt like slamming him off his bike with my hand when he passed me and shouting at him "YOU ******** prick cant you friggin ride properly?? THIS IS A FRIGGIN PUBLIC PARK, SO STOP RIDING SO ******* RECKLESSLY. ID RATHER KILL U NOW THEN WAIT FOR U TO KNOCK SOMEONE OVER". The fatter malay had more trouble keeping up. After awhile justin came up to me and said "eh im getting pissed off by this people". Our chance to get out came with a long stretch of empty road. We pushed the pace up to 30-35kmph,which was already enough to drop such noobs. Eat our friggin dust. Those pricks totally ruined my day. so similiar to another encounter i had (coincidentally with malay teens again) involving abt 5 bmx riders. As ifff the chinese idiot wasnt enough.
The stretch home was much more enjoyable. I led e way. Along bukit timah i was pushing my limits. some parts reached high 40s! maintained above 35 all the way. When i reached home died already. went to sleep. End of story.
